Original Review, June, 2008:
The Heritage du Chateau Touraine, 2005, is a French sauvignon blanc from the 4 Seasons wine club selection. In the glass, it is quite transparent, with a blush of vanilla color.

Aromas are modest, of sharp green grass - perhaps less sweet-seeming than the color would suggest.

On the palate, the first thing that is surprising is that there is no grass at all! Instead, a tiny bit of gasoline plus motor oil ("petrol", you might say) comes through at the back of the palate, complemented by a top-of-mouth flush of acidity to the front. Interesting one/two punch, but it's not quite joined together. Right now, I'm heading towards two stars out of five, with a plus for intensity and intrigue.

Updated Review, almost two years later, May, 2010:

Color has gotten richer, honey-ish.  Now an oily aromatic brew, showing hay-infused motor oil.  No grass now.   Mineral-slick on the palate, with even off-sweet butterscotch.  Now at its stride, with five years from bottle-date.  Three stars now.  Great value.
