Original Review, October, 2006: One of those strange brews from Taste of California. On the question of this particular distributor's morals, you can see my rant here. I think this edition of wine was done for one year only, 2001. Sporting a ruby-to-brick visual cast, the nose has a burnt fruit plus sticky bright blackberry twang. The palate follows through on the aromas, and is pleasingly sweet, round, slightly bright and full. Rapid finish, flickerin' quickern'a flipped nickel.

(Update: Taste of California is now called wineinsiders.com)

Updated Review June 2008: Less blackberry tang in the balanced aroma; finish holds on just a bit longer than in the original tasting. Solid three stars out of five still. Outstanding value.

Updated Review April 2010: Color is just a bit more brick than ruby now.  Balanced, somewhat shy aroma of twigs and fruit.  Still a bright and balanced palate, quite friendly in tone. Still three stars.  Remarkable that it keeps holding up to age, now nine years from vintage date.
