Rating: *+ 2000 Castello di Borghese Pinot Noir, Hargrave Vineyard, Long Island NY

Review: Color is a very light orange-red. Aroma is all brightness, suggesting very high acids, even in this 6-year-old pinot noir. On the palate, yup, those are acids all right - tongue-rolling, cheek-wincing acids. No fruit; no earth; can't find the tannins - but, yes, the acid is there, barely hiding the alcohol. This is not a pleasant experience, folks. Can't remember what I was thinking when I bought the bottle five years ago - though in all fairness, this wine may have seen more years in the cellar than ever intended.
