Rating: **** 2004 Stag's Leap Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon - Napa, CA

Review: Middle deep color, very compelling old-school aroma of earth, hay and fruit. Complex on the palate, hinting of many things that just can't possibly be in the glass! Surprisingly pleasant now for something that seems to really want to age.
(Review from memory - not immediate tasting.)

  1. Your review is making me want to taste this wine now. Which is suprising for a 2004 Cab... Stag's Leap Cellars have some really good Cabs but they usually like some time in the bottle, like the 2001 Stag's Leap SLV I had this weekend. Would be interesting to get a couple of bottles, taste one now and then cellar the other for a couple of years. I will keep my eyes open for it.
    Cheers!

  2. Yes, I'd be all for cellaring one of these - if you can muster the fortitude to ignore it every time it calls you from the basement!
