Rating: **** 2005 Boroli Madonna di Como Dolcetto d'Alba, Piedmont, Italy

Review: Color is a brilliant purple mahogany. Aromas are full of yeast and grapes. On the palate, this dolcetto is full and round, delivering mounds of yeast and raspberry in the foreground, with plenty of mouth-filling tannins. A complete, moderate-length finish wraps up the package. I must say I keep coming back to this very young, but very intriguing red.

As you may know, dolcetto wines are designed for early drinking, akin somewhat to the beaujolais grape in that regard.
