Rating: **** 2005 Presidio Pinot Noir, Estate Bottled, Santa Barbara County, CA

Review: This organically-grown pinot noir from the area west of Santa Rita Hills shows a light- to mid-red in the glass. The aroma is high and bright with some tannins and red cherry in the nose. The palate is sweet, with an extracted cherry flavor that floats on pleasantly, moving to a moderately long finish.

Does quite a nice job for an affordable pinot noir from this area. It would keep me content for an evening, thus four stars.

This wine was sampled as part of our brief expedition cruising Santa Ynez Valley.
