Rating: ***+ 2007 Mollydooker The Violinist Verdelho, McLaren Vale, Australia

LIVE Review: Showing light yellow pale in the glass, aroma of meadows and grasses push into the room. On the palate, a creaminess overtakes the grass, and yields to a warm, lingering finish. Yes, I'd retrun to this, with pleasure.

This wine was tasted as part of a Mollydooker Tasting Dinner - 2006 Vintage.

  1. I'm not a white wine fan, but I'll make an exception for The Violinist any day. I wish I could find a similar white that is easier to get that has all the wonderful attributes of this delicious creation.

  2. Not a substitute, but another outstanding white wine value in the same category is Argiolas Costamolino (a Vermentino di Sardegna from Italy). For review, search Spirit of Wine for "argiolas" and scroll down.
