Review: *** $ Hayes Ranch In the Saddle Cabernet Sauvignon, Central Coast, California, 2004 = BEST VALUE

Original review, a full decade from vintage date, June, 2014:   This is Hayes Ranch In the Saddle Cabernet Sauvignon, Central Coast, California, 2004, finished at a mere 12.5% alcohol.

In the glass:  Medium deep red with glints of brick.

On the nose:  Served at cellar temperature, shows soft, mature but bright fruit.  Seems like it will be light-bodied and tangy.

On the palate:  Deeper and richer and more aromatic than anticipated.  Provides a bright blackberry and red currant fruit blend with very light oak overtones.  Easy three stars. Has held up very well to the decade of age.  Best value!
