Review and Rating: *+ Chiarlo Barbera d'Asti "Le Orme", Piedmont, Italy

Barbara d'Asti's are kind of tricky for me. But I did want to give this one a try. It is very light red in the glass. Aromas are most like that of the gamay grape, found in beaujolais wine.

On the palate, the taste is true to this prelude. It is high-pitched, bright with slightly burnt overtones. I'll pass on finishing the glass, but give it a plus for the friendliness. One plus stars out of five.
