Review and Rating: ** $$$$ Domaine Bouchard Pere et Fils Mersault Les Clous, 2005, Burgundy, France

Review:
The Domaine Bouchard Pere et Fils Mersault Les Clous is made of chardonnay fruit from 2005, a vintage considered among the best in recent memory for Burgundy.

In the glass, this is clear with a slight vanilla color. Aroma is light, with crispy oak.

On the palate, you first notice a full oak impact in the middle, with a good balance of even tannins and acid. There is shy fruit, though, a quick finish, and no real complexity that I was able to detect. Two stars out of five.
