Review and Rating: * Grover Cabernet / Shiraz, 2005, India

Grover is widely recognized as one of the premier winemakers in India. This blend comes from grapes grown in the Nandi Hills near Bangalore, India. It is made in collaboration with Michael Rolland of Bordeaux.

The cabernet/shiraz blend shows mid red in the glass. Its aroma is shy, high and bright.

A similar experience hits the palate, acids almost vinegar-like in their harshness, mild fruit. Vapid finish. Pretty much what a westerner might expect from an Indian wine. Too bad, as the Sula line - much less widely distributed - showed some decent wines in our recent tastings.
