Original Review, February, 2008, three years from vintage date:  The Christian Moueix Pomerol, France, 2005, is a blend of 95% merlot and 5% cabernet franc, finished at 13.5% alcohol.  This was well-decanted, and shows deep red to mahogany in the glass.

Aromas push out of the glass - fat, rubbery, plum aromas.

On the palate, many things strike you right up front... a round, broad fruit... deep old-world roots... balanced tannins and a touch of acids. The finish is still slightly raw, but long and hearty; carried along fully to the next sip. Three stars out of five, with a plus because of enthusiasm for its future.

Updated review, seven years later, now 10 years from vintage date,   February, 2015:  Deep cranberry color.  Subtle red aromas, with strong elements of aging.  Clean, full depth, tannins and brightness. Light sip, still works well after a full decade.
