Review and Rating: *** $ Santa Julia Merlot, 2006, Mendoza, Argentina

Review:
The "practically free" Santa Julia Merlot, 2006, is from the Familia Zuccardi winery in Mendoza Argentina.

In the glass it is medium light red. It displays a fruity merlot aroma which is fairly bold, with just a touch of oak.

On the palate, your first experience is a spicy, furry middle, with pleasant acids carrying a fairly lush fruit into your cheeks. A touch of burnt alcohol moves into the finish. Three stars out of five. Good value given the rock-bottom price.
