Review and Rating: *** $$ Chateau de Mignot, 2003, Saint-Estephe, Bordeaux, France

Review: In the glass, the Chateau de Mignot, 2003, Saint-Estephe, is medium magenta, moving towards ruby red. The wine is 50/50 cabernet sauvignon and merlot.

Whoa, blow-off aroma of helium balloons along with the fruit! On the palate, the hyper-medicinal element comes through from the helium balloons, striking your lower brain with fruit. It's kind of like a brain freeze, but with wine instead of a snow cone. A wine freeze! It comes along with a bright raspberry fruit, tannins, acids and a moderately long, sweet finish. I'll go with three stars out of five.
