*** $ French Rabbit Pinot Noir, 2004, Vin de Pays d'Oc, France - Review and Rating

Review: Like the sister Chardonnay from French Rabbit, this is an incredibly inexpensive pinot noir that I acquired from Zachy's at under $5 a bottle. I figured it was always good for a reduction sauce if not drinkable. Let's see. The French Rabbit Pinot Noir, 2004, is from Vin de Pays d'Oc, France, and is made by Boisset House.

In the glass, it is a medium burgundy color. Aroma is muted, but pleasant with dark, dusty cherries. On the palate, this comes across with a thick, stewed cherry middle. Sweetness and acids come in on the modest finish. Round and friendly. Three stars out of five. Absolutely awesome value at this "cooking wine" price.
