**+ $$ Cuatro Pasos Mencia, 2006, Bierzo, Castilla y Leon, Spain - Wine Review and Rating

Review: Tasted at the Brown University Latin American Council (BULAC) wine tasting in New York City. The Cuatro Pasos Mencia is made from the mencia grape, which is believed to be related to cabernet franc. In the glass, it shows as deep magenta. Aromas are red, purple and somehow reminiscent of beaujolais. On the palate, the same red purple style comes across, deeper this time, with a flashy finish. Two stars with a plus for distinction.
