***+ $$ Terra Noble Reserva Carmenere, 2006, Maule Valley, Chile - Wine Review and Rating

Review: Tasted at the Brown University Latin American Council (BULAC) wine tasting in New York City. The Terra Noble Reserva Carmenere is made from carmenere, Chile's signature grape and an occasional element in Bordeaux blends. It is deep magenta in the glass. Aroma is intriguing, oaky, deep, with black charcoal element. On the palate, you notice a middle-mouth hit of tannins, followed by deep rich fruit, and a lengthy, gritty finish. Three stars with a plus for promise. Good value.
