Review: The J Pinot Gris, 2007, from Russian River Valley in Sonoma, CA, comes from J Vineyards and Winery, which was founded in 1986 by Judy Jordan.
In the glass, it is pale yellow. Served cool, aromas are wet, of apple juice and sweet lemonade.
On sipping, the real action occurs right upfront, bringing crisp pear and lemon twist to the tongue. Touch of acids stirs the cheeks and it finishes slightly muddled and murky. Two stars but with a plus for youthful exuberance. Its challenge is that it shows the imbalance of youth as well.
