*** $ Triacipedis White Wine, Wine Woot Cellars, CA, 2008 - Wine Review and Rating (BEST VALUE)

Find California white wine blend at WineZap.

By way of background:Triacipedis White Wine, 2008, is a "Wine Woot Cellars" California blend of 36% white riesling, 32% sauvignon blanc, and 32% chardonnay, finished at a bold 13.5% alcohol.

In the glass:Triacipedis White is bold yellow and gold in the glass.

On the nose: Poured without a decant and swirled vigorously,it shows bright, funky grasses, with some underlying hay.

On the palate:The first note is a bright, golden, sweet wash across the tongue, reminding one of very light honeydew melon.  Then the flavors lodge in your cheeks with bright acids.

And the finish:A sweet finish wraps up the experience.

In summary:A solid two star experience on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  A plus comes in because of its friendliness. Decent value.

Updated Review, eight months later, August, 2010:  Color and aromas are consistent. So is the palate, except that the light melon takes on a richer tone, adding weight to the mid-palate, and length to the finish. Now three stars and a great value.
