**+ $$$$$ Chateau Canon, Saint Emilion, Bordeaux, France - Wine Tasting and Review

Find Chateau Canon at WineZap.

Original Review:

By way of background: Chateau Canon of Saint Emilion in the Bordeaux region of France,  produces about 60,000 bottles a year of red wine.  For 2007, the wine is a combination of 75% merlot and 25% cabernet franc, aged for about a year and a half in barrel.

In the glass: Chateau Canon shows as medium red in the glass.

On the nose: Poured with a brief decant and swirled vigorously, this bordeaux blend offers aromas of a medium fruity forest floor.

On the palate: The first element on the palate is a dark cherry and wood wash across your mouth.  Then an acid prickle turns up, adding lift.

And the finish: Sweet, cherry tannins frame the finish.

In summary: Rates two stars with a plus stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
