Original Review:

By way of background: Chateau Pape Clement Blanc from the Pessac-Leognan area of Bordeaux, produced a total of 95,000 bottles of red and white wine in 2007, the vintage we are tasting.  The white is a combination of 45% sauvignon blanc, 45% semillon and 10% muscadelle, aged 15 months in new oak barrels.

In the glass: Chateau Pape Clement shows as clear in the glass, with vanilla highlights.

On the nose: Poured cool without a decant and swirled vigorously, the Bordeaux white came across as lemon-vanilla in its nose.

On the palate: The first element on the palate is a tangy brightness, followed by an acid-driven, clean palate. Certainly could use time.

In summary: Overall, rates two stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
