By way of background: Vetrere Livruni Primitivo is from the Puglia region of Italy.  "Primitivo" is the same grape as zinfandel in the states, and for 2006, this vintage is finished at 13% alcohol, fairly modest by primitivo/zinfandel standards.

Original Tasting and Review, February, 2010:

In the glass: Vetrere Livruni Primitivo shows as medium deep red in the glass.

On the nose: Poured cool with a brief decant and swirled vigorously, this primitivo shows a fairly shy nose, displaying some faint red berries and hint of grape lollipop.

On the palate: The first element on the palate is a very smooth mid-palate sweep - almost the smoothest attack I've seen from a wine since Opici.  It comes with a mineral slickness that brings out a touch of fully ripened blackberry and red currant compote.  Acids, very gentle indeed, offer just a hint of lift to your upper palate and cheeks.

And the finish: Quite clean and subdued, but still the fruit lingers for a good long while, without cloying in the least.

In summary: Overall, this provides an understated, but still quite compelling experience.  Doesn't seem to want more age or decanting, just someone who more wants to be pleased by a wine, than wowed by one. Rates three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, but with a plus added for its shy and becoming nature.

Updated review, over a year and a half later, October, 2011: Consistent colors and aromas, still seems quite fresh.  Even the palate has held consistent, with deep fruit, a sleek minerality, and silty fruitiness.  Yummy still, now five years from vintage date.  Following long decant, three days kept cool in partially filled bottle: Held generally sound, but some of its minerality on the palate has shifted to light vegetable.
