Original Tasting and Review:    May, 2010

By way of background: Beau Pinson Pinot Noir Bourgogne from Cotes d'Auxerre, France, 2001, is a well aged bourgogne coming in at 12.5% alcohol.

In the glass: Beau Pinson Pinot Noir Bourgogne shows as quite light red in the glass, brick at the edge.

On the nose: Poured and swirled vigorously, this bourgogne sports mild vegetable stew aromas.

On the palate: The first elements on the palate are a tangy, bright fruit, with hints of broccoli, carrots and onions in the background, ultimately lifted with a hint of sweetness and fruit.

And the wrap-up: The finish is acidic and punchy.

In summary: Overall, rates two stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
