Initial review, by way of background: This is Twin Bridges Riesling, California, 2009, finished at 12.5% alcohol, a bit high for an off-dry riesling. It is an offering from the Wine Insiders service, and is a California Wine Club Selection.
In the glass: Clear with honey overtones.
On the nose: Poured cool with a brief decant and swirled vigorously, shows soft grasses, lime and sugar. From the aroma, seems like this will be sweet and lightly acidic.
On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are a full grassy sweetness. The grasses and citrus are nicely offset by the light, but apparent, residual sugar. Nice, light acid bite to offset things too.
In summary: Overall, rates three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale. Best value.
