By way of background, opening thoughts: This is a cabernet sauvignon hailing from the Uvas Canyon of Santa Clara Valley, CA, an entirely new experience for me.

Original tasting and review, July, 2011: This is Jason-StephensWinery Cabernet Sauvignon, Uvas Canyon, Santa Clara Valley, Central Coast, CA, 2006, finished at 14.5% alcohol.

In the glass:  Deep red, opaque in the center.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature with no decant, swirled vigorously, shows bold, lifted, inky black currant aromas.   Seems like it will be bold, alcoholic with perhaps a deeper core.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact bright, strongly alcoholic at room temperature, perfumes and bright black berry fruit comes through. Piercing, bold black red experience.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scaleFollowing long decant, full day at room temperature in partially filled bottle:  More shy, alcoholic black currants on the nose now. Palate is the same piercingly perfumed experience.

Updated review, over a year later,  August, 2012:  Deep burgundy in the glass.  Softer, subtle nose of blackberry.  Solid, full red on the palate with black bolts of lightning.  Solid offering, holding up well to time in bottle.
