By way of background, opening thoughts: Silver Creek Vineyard of California produces a range to classical varietal wines, sourced from multiple California vineyards, all at value prices.  Today we will try three classics from the line, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay, with review samples all provided by Silver Creek Vineyard.

Original tasting and review : This is Silver Creek Chardonnay, California, 2010, finished at 13.% alcohol.

In the glass: Clear and light yellow.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature with a brief decant and swirled vigorously, shows bright hay and hints of lemonade.  From the aroma, seems like this will be softer on the palate with citrus highlights.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact a medium body, with light sandy citrus elements.  A gentle presentation to the palate, with only light acids teasing the clean citrus fruits along to the finish.

In summary: Overall, a pleasant wine for immediate consumption that rates three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, and becomes a best value at its value price point.

Following long decant, full day kept cool in partially filled bottle:   Softer citrus on the nose.  Softer as well on the palate.  Seemed livelier fresh from the bottle.
