Review: ***+ $$$$ Faust Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California

Check out today's pricing and retail availability for Faust Cabernet Sauvignon.

By way of background, opening thoughts: Agustin Heneeus, known most widely for his ownership of Quintessa Estate, is the driving force behind this Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon.

Original tasting and review : This is Faust Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California, 2007.

In the glass: Deep burgundy, opaque towards the center.

On the nose: Poured cool with a brief decant and swirled vigorously, shows potent, deep inky purple fruit and oak. From the aroma, seems like this will be full and fleshy.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact sleek mineral inky depths.  Dark plum glides along a potent backbone with firm balance.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars with a big plus for its balance and sleekness on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
