About quickie reviews: These
reviews are made on the run, typically at large wine tastings, where the
opportunity to settle in with a wine is limited. Nonetheless, key
elements on the nose or palate are indicated, along with Spirit of Wine
rating.
Quickie tasting notes: This is Duckhorn Migration Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley, Mendocino County, California, 2009. Smoky, sweet with a hint of banana on the nose (keep in mind, wildfires in Mendocino County precipitated a smoky element in many wines from the 2009 vintage). Rich, bold and sweet on the palate.
Overall: Rates three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
