Find today's prices and retail availability for Catena Zapata Nicasia Malbec.

About quick reviews: "Quick reviews" are made on the run, often at large wine tastings, where the opportunity to settle in with a wine is limited.  Our typical reviews carry more depth.  Nonetheless, key elements on the nose or palate are indicated, along with Spirit of Wine rating.

Quickie tasting notes:  This is Catena Zapata Nicasia Malbec, Argentina, 2007, finished at 14.2% alcohol.  Deeply opaque burgundy in the glass.  The nose is sweet, deep and rich with small red berries.  On the palate, the wine is sleek, fresh, bold and balanced.

Overall: Rates four stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  A high-quality splurge.
