About quick reviews: "Quick reviews" are made on the run, often at large wine tastings, where the opportunity to settle in with a wine is limited.  Our typical reviews carry more depth.  Nonetheless, key elements on the nose or palate are indicated, along with Spirit of Wine rating.

Quickie tasting notes:  This is Chateau Barde-Haut, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux, France, 2009 and 2011, by Sylviane Garcin.  The 2009 is bright and tangy on the nose, complemented with a full and flush palate.  For 2011 en primeur, the nose is fresh and clean, while the palate is bright and supple.

Overall: Both vintages rate two stars plus on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
