About quick reviews: "Quick reviews" are made on the run, often at large wine tastings, where the opportunity to settle in with a wine is limited.  Our typical reviews carry more depth.  Nonetheless, key elements on the nose or palate are indicated, along with Spirit of Wine rating.

Quickie tasting notes:  This is Chateau Grand Corbin-Despagne, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe, Bordeaux, France, 2009 and 2011, by Francois Despagne.  The 2009 is deep and flush on the nose.  The palate is purple, yet still sharp.  For the 2011, tasted en primeur,  the nose is shy, while the palate is clean and sleek.

Overall: The 2009 rates two stars plus on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  It definitely has potential with time.
