Original tasting and review : This is Andretti Selections Cabernet Sauvignon, North Coast, California, 2009, finished at 14.3% alcohol.
In the glass: Deep ruby red.
On the nose: Poured cool and swirled vigorously, shows bright, with red purple tones, more like a simple merlot than a cabernet sauvignon. From the aroma, seems like this will be fresh, bright and possibly acidic.
On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact full with sweet plums in the middle, with little bits of acid curling around the edges. Perhaps a fully sip than anticipated; well-balanced, simple with few layers to contemplate.
In summary: Overall, rates two stars with a big plus for pleasantness on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
