Original tasting and review : This is Andretti Selections Chardonnay, Central Coast, California, 2010, finished at 14.3% alcohol.
In the glass: very light yellow with pale vanilla highlights.
On the nose: Poured cool and swirled vigorously, shows deep fruit and light butterscotch. From the aroma, seems like this will be fresh and layered.
On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact a gentle, balanced butterscotch - not sweet, but with mineral depth and solid layers. Good depth without oak. A clean finish with modest length and cleansing citrus overtones.
In summary: Overall, rates a solid three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
