Review: **** $$ Napa Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California, 2008 = BEST VALUE

Check out today's pricing and retail availability for bargain Napa Cabernet Sauvignon.

Original tasting and review : This is Napa Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California, 2008, finished at 14% alcohol.

In the glass: Dark ruby and garnet.

On the nose: Poured with a brief decant and swirled vigorously, shows bold fruit but distinctive old world elements of brisk bramble.  From the aroma, seems like this will be bold old and new world crossover.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact much as expected.  Bold fruit comes on strong at first, but paired immediately with the wonderful old world - perhaps bretty? - aromatics.  Finish is brisk, full and clean.

In summary: Overall, rates four stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
