By way of background, opening thoughts: This Shiraz hails from a lesser-known region of Australia, the Riverina, New South Wales area.

Original tasting and review, July, 2013: This is Nugan Estate Vision Riverina Shiraz, New South Wales, Australia, 2007, finished at 14.5% alcohol.

In the glass: Deep red magenta, not quite but almost opaque in the center.

On the nose: Poured and swirled vigorously, shows bold, fragrant fruit with a touch of earth.  From the aroma, seems like this will be red fruited and deep.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact an elegant yet bold, almost old-worldly palate, brimming with cheery, spicy charred oak, and still lusty, earthy red berries.  The red berries linger before settling into the spices that make up the finish.

In summary: Overall, just reaches four stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  Awesome value at a terrific price point.

Following long decant, full day under vacuum in partially filled bottle:  Consistent earthy and sweet nose.  Still shows all the depth, sweetness, charriness and lustiness from before.  Still awesome!
