Original tasting and review : This is Trader Joe's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Mendocino County, California, 2010, finished at 13.9% alcohol.

In the glass: Deep muddy red, opaque in the center.

On the nose: Poured at cool room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows structured, classic, classy nose with pointed acids and hints of tannins.  From the aroma, seems like this will be spot-on for the varietal style.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact showing intriguing layers of husky, fleshy, purple fruit with deep spices and surround sound of toning acids and tannins. A light eucalyptus note too, with closing notes of cocoa powder.

In summary: Overall, just touches four stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, making this an awesome value at its bargain price point.
