Original tasting and review : This is Beringer Founders' Estate Merlot, California, 2010, finished at 13.9% alcohol.  It is a bargain label in the Beringer line.

In the glass: Medium deep dusty red.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows bold perfumed purple elements, quite distinctive.  From the aroma, seems like this will be easy and friendly, with some bold aromatics.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact soft, round, quite rich, with easy cheery acids and a bold dose of fragrant red fruit.  Clean, fresh finish.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, making this a clear best value.
