Review: **+ $ Gallo Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, California

Check out today's pricing and retail availability for Gallo Cabernet Sauvignon.

Original tasting and review : This is Gallo Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, California, finished at 13% alcohol.

In the glass: Deep, dark, dusty red, but not opaque in the center.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows bright, fragrant, California plums for miles!

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate include a soft and furry surround on the bold, deep plums, offering a rich and slightly sweet feel.  The finish is brief, but grips with a little bit of tannin fur and acid.  Gentle finish.

In summary: Overall, rates two plus stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale. Like the Gallo Merlot, shows a good balance with fruit, tannins and acids at this price point.
