Review: ***+ $$ Ramsay Cabernet Sauvignon, North Coast, California, 2011 = GOOD VALUE

Check out today's pricing and retail availability for Ramsay Cabernet Sauvignon.

Original tasting and review : This is Ramsay Cabernet Sauvignon, North Coast, California, 2011, finished at 13.5% alcohol.

In the glass: Medium deep red with brick overtones.

On the nose: Poured cool and swirled vigorously, shows bright purple fruit with some husky carmel candy overtones.  From the aroma, seems like this will be tangy, sweet and bright - with intriguing aromatics.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact deeper, rounder, ruddier than anticipated, showing fleshy rich blackberry fruit up front, with light tannins and acids supporting the whole.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars with a plus for depth and balance on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  Good value.
