By way of background, opening thoughts:

Original tasting and review : This is Sparrow Hawk Reserve Chardonnay, Russian River Valley, Sonoma, California, 2011, finished at 14.1% alcohol.

In the glass: Clear with a hint of vanilla and yellow.

On the nose: Poured cold and swirled vigorously, shows funky and deep sweet fruit. From the aroma, seems like this will be full and bright.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact svelte, oaked and velvety.  It brings a butterscotch feel, with a dry butterscotch flavor ringed by white grapes and hints of honeydew.  The most impressive element though is the mouthfeel, which is rich and luxurious.  Fades very, very slowly given its rich demeanor.

In summary: Overall, rates an easy four stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
