Original tasting and review : This is Lengs & Cooter The Victor Shiraz, McLaren Vale, Australia, 2006, finished at 14.5% alcohol, being sampled at seven years from vintage date.

In the glass: Deep magenta, opaque from a half inch in from the edge, with hints of brick at the edge.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows soft eucalyptus and milk chocolate.  From the aroma, seems like this will be soft, full and creamy.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact red creamy fruit with ripe blackberry compote and solid oak framing.  Moderately long finish of black fruit with a bright flash to the finish.

In summary: Overall, just touches four stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  Best value.
