Original tasting and review : This is Tin Roof Cellars Merlot, North Coast and Central Coast, California, 2010, finished at 13.5% alcohol.  The 2009 vintage of this wine rated three and a half stars.  This tasting is the following years vintage, 2010, tasting now three years from vintage date.

In the glass: Medium ruby red.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows soft, shy cranberries.   From the aroma, seems like this will be light but perhaps with some mouth-filling surprises.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact balanced with red berry fruit, bringing a solid balance and friendly, lightly acidic demeanor.  Finish is not lengthy, but clean.

In summary: Overall, rates two stars with a plus for clean balance on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
