Review: **+ $ Mo Salinas Monastrell, Alicante, Spain, 2006

Original tasting and review : This is Mo Salinas Monastrell, Alicante, Spain, 2006, finished at 14% alcohol, sampled seven years from vintage date.

In the glass: Deep magenta.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows funky deep smooth red.  From the aroma, seems like this will be easy and well-aged.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact very balanced in a lighter, aromatic red style.  If blackberries were red, that would be the primary flavor element.  Friendly, swift, clean finish.

In summary: Overall, rates two stars with a plus for potent balance on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
