Original tasting and review : This is Pewsey Vale Individual Selection Riesling, Eden Valley, Australia, 2006, finished at 13.% alcohol, tasted a full seven years from vintage date.

In the glass: Clear with light yellow and olive tones.

On the nose: Poured cool and swirled vigorously, shows clean, deep mineral slate, like licking stone! But with an apparent depth and sweetness too. From the aroma, seems like this will be sleek but bold.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact bright in the cheeks, with solid sleekness and an apparent light sweetness to keep things friendly.  The finish is long-lived, and comprises bright acids that sneak unnoticed into your cheeks and sit there for a long, long, long time.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, with a plus for its awesome aromas.  Good value.
