Original tasting and review : This is Wellington Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County, California, 2009, finished at 14% alcohol.

In the glass:  Deep magenta, not quite opaque in the center.

On the nose: Poured at cellar temperature and swirled vigorously, shows deep classic fruit and some high-pitched purple.  From the aroma, seems like this will be solid and layered.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact richer and more textured than anticipated, showing aromatic, yet still almost creamy structured fruit, with plenty of minerality.  The finish holds both with acids drawing the dark purple aromatics into your cheeks and tannins surrounding the sip.  Quite a powerful and elegant experience.

In summary: Overall, rates four stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, making this a definite best value.
