Original tasting and review : This is Radius Red Wine Blend, Washington State, 2012, finished at 13% alcohol.

In the glass: Deep medium red, with purple edges.  Looks a bit like a California pinot noir in color.

On the nose: Poured at cool room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows soft muddled fresh blackberries.  From the aroma, seems like this will be bright and lightly sweet in tone.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact flush, round, sweet and mouth-filling.  Carries some dark fruit tones, but in a round, sweet package.  The mouth-tone is a bit reminiscent of the low-acid Opici Homemade Barbarone style.  Like I said, though, with more sophistication in the palate. Clean, swift finish.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  Gains a plus for puppy-dog friendliness.
