Original tasting and review : This is Sorrenti Blackberry Merlot, Cherry Valley Vineyards, Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, non-vintage, finished at a mere 12% alcohol.  It is mostly merlot.

In the glass: Medium red.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows slightly corked merlot style fruit.  From the aroma, seems like this will be light and easy-going.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact bold and solidly sweet.  Not cloying at all. Think of it as semi-sweet.  Robust, deep fruit, with a sweetness that simply surrounds the red fruits and acids.  Fast but clean finish.

In summary: Overall, a friendly, simple sipper that rates stars three stars for pleasantness on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
