Original tasting and review : This is Chateau Beaulieu Comtes de Tastes, Bordeaux, France, 2005, finished at 13% alcohol and first sampled a whopping nine years from vintage date.

In the glass: Deep muddy magenta, opaque from about a half inch in from the edge.

On the nose: Poured at cellar temperature and swirled vigorously, shows deep fruited black and red currant.  From the aroma, seems like this will be full and mature.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact full, rich, dry and fully gritty with fruit and sand elements nicely offsetting each other.  Soft ink that settles slowly into your palate for a nice lengthy finish.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars with a big plus for depth and balance on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, making this a very good value.
