Original tasting and review : This is Markham Vineyards Chardonnay, Napa Valley, California, 2012, finished at 13.8% alcohol.  This is barrel fermented with 100% estate Napa fruit.

In the glass: Clear with light honey elements.

On the nose: Poured at cellar temperature and swirled vigorously, shows crisp pear and apple.  From the aroma, seems like this will be bright and fruity.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact lightly oaked, bold, lush pear fruit, sliding across your palate, backed by just enough perky acids to bring a light lemon acidity lingering in your cheeks.  Clean, acid-washed finish that takes a seriously long time to fade completely.

In summary: Overall, rates four stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, and is an easy best value.  We are drinking this young, which does seem to accentuate its best elements.
