Original tasting and review : This is Nugan Estate Frasca's Lane Vineyard Chardonnay, King Valley, Victoria, Australia, 2008, finished at 14% alcohol.

In the glass: Light golden yellow.

On the nose: Poured at cellar temperature and swirled vigorously, shows crisp slate.  From the aroma, seems like this will be clean, sharp and precise.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact rounder than anticipated, with plenty of deep fruit, surrounded by the chalky slate and grassiness that was apparent in the nose.  Flavors of rich pear and crisp butterscotch glide across your mouth with a pleasant creaminess and come lodged in your cheek with sprightly acids.

In summary: Overall, a remarkably balanced experience rates four stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  Awesome value at the acquired price.
